SWIMMING

We have a great swimming lake! Be sure to bring Crocs or swimming shoes- the entrance is a bit rocky.

ON-SITE DINING AT RAVEN ROCK GRILL

Enjoy one of our house-made entrées, salads, pastas, sandwiches, steaks, shrimp or healthy kids meals at the Raven Rock Grill. Enjoy the bar or restaurant and watch the sun set over Devil Track Lake. 

ON-SITE WATERCRAFT

Skyport Lodge has a variety of watercraft rentals available to resort guests. Lodge and cabin guests have free access to Skyport’s three canoes, two SUP boards and four kayaks. These vessels are available on a first come, first serve basis. Please be considerate of others by keeping your usage to two hours or less. Subject to availability. Call or email us to learn more

FISHING

ON AND OFF-SITE

Looking to catch some walleye, smallmouth bass, or pike? There is fishing on and off site spring, summer and fall. Contact Devil Track Lake resident Dan for inquiries at 218-370-0645. There are dozens of other nearby fishing lakes in and out of the Boundary Water Canoe Area, learn more here.

Skyport Lodge hosts a variety of special events throughout the summer including our Music by the Lake Concert Series on Sundays. Cook County hosts an incredible amount of festivals, events, live music, and activities which take place around the region. See the Visit Cook County Events Calendar for a full schedule.

SCENIC AIRPLANE TOURS

Sawtooth Aviation will show you Cook County, Minnesota’s most beautiful county, from the air. Year-round scenic flights available from Grand Marais/Cook County Airport, right across Devil Track Road from Skyport Lodge.

Skyport Lodge hosts campfires on our lawn upon request.

GOLF

Gunflint Hills Golf Course is a scenic 9-Hole Par 36 layout, four miles from Skyport Lodge.

Superior National at Lutsen offers 27 holes of championship golf set amidst the unparalleled beauty of Lake Superior’s North Shore in Lutsen, Minnesota.

COMMUNITY ROOM

Skyport’s Community Room is on the lower level of the lodge. We have a pool table, games, DirecTV, couches, tables and chairs.

HIKING

Skyport Lodge is within easy reach of hundreds of miles of hiking trails through the Superior National Forest. Some of our favorites are:

Eagle Mountain: Hike to the highest peak in Minnesota! Just 15 minutes away.

Honeymoon Bluff: Hike to a popular overlook of Hungry Jack Lake. Approx. 25 minutes away.

Blueberry Hill: Take the steep but short hike to an overlook of Northern Light Lake. Just 15 minutes away.

FALL COLOR TOUR

The Gunflint Trail and the surrounding Superior National Forest boast spectacular fall colors from early September through mid October. Take a fall color drive along a number of routes. 

RIDE THE GONDOLA

Ride the Gondola at Lutsen Mountains, just 30 minutes from Skyport Lodge. It is an aerial tram ride at treetop level to the top of Moose Mountain. At the top enjoy hiking trails, overlooks of Lake Superior and the Superior National Forest, and the Summit Chalet for food and beverage. Great for fall colors!

GUIDED ECO ADVENTURE TOURS

Experience the expansive beauty of Minnesota’s North Shore and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area through professionally guided single-day and multi-day trips. Points Unknown and Border Lakes Tour Company offer paddling and hiking tours.

CHIK-WAUK MUSEUM AND NATURE CENTER

Learn about the Gunflint Trail’s prehistoric beginnings and people who helped shape today’s unique, rural community, including Native Americans, Voyageurs, miners, loggers, resort owners and current residents.

A network of nature trails crisscross Chik-Wauk’s 50-acre grounds. Enjoy family-focused naturalist programs.

MOUNTAIN BIKING

Mountain bike on forest roads or at the nearby Pincushion Mountain Biking Trails. Rent a bike from North Shore eBike in Lutsen or Sawtooth Outfitters in Tofte.

WILDLIFE VIEWING

Moose, wolves, fox, black bears, loons, beavers, otters and bald eagles are among the many animals that are found in our area. Spot many of these species right at Skyport Lodge, or along a hike on the hundreds of miles of nearby hiking trails.
