Whether you are staying on-site at Skyport Lodge or venturing away from Devil Track Lake, there are endless opportunities for outdoor fun and adventure!
Let us help create customized experiences for you to maximize your perfect vacation!
It is our pleasure to provide snowmobile trail recommendations, private dog sledding adventures,
or guided ice fishing tours. For an unforgettable vacation, the team at Skyport Lodge is at your service.
Skyport Lodge is the snowmobile destination in the Grand Marais/Gunflint Trail area! Snowmobile along hundreds of miles of groomed trails to and from Skyport Lodge. Make us an overnight stop on a long trip, or enjoy our resort as a base-camp for your North Shore snowmobile adventures. We have abundant trailer parking. If you didn’t bring snowmobiles with you, rentals are available from Steve’s Sports in Grand Marais.
Looking to catch some walleye, smallmouth bass, trout, or pike? There are many great ice fishing spots off the Gunflint Trail. Call Little Vince's Guide Service 218-388-9942, or Gunflint Fishing Guide to reserve a guided fishing trip.
Lutsen Mountains, the Midwest’s largest downhill ski resort, is another stop not to miss. With 4 mountains and 95 runs from beginner to expert, they have something for everyone. Approx. 30 minutes from Skyport.
The hundreds of miles of hiking trails in our area are available for winter hiking or snowshoeing. And for snowshoeing, you don’t even need a trail! Just strap ‘em on and walk on top of the deep snow! Snowshoe rental is available at Stone Harbor Wilderness Supply.
Check out what’s happening at our two art schools in town - the North House Folk School and the Grand Marais Art Colony. They may have woodworking, pottery, painting, printmaking, sculpture, writing, or cooking classes happening while you’re here. Or, schedule your trip around a class. The attractions of the Cook County Historical Society are also popular places to explore.
After a day playing outside in the snow, warm up by our lakeside fire ring and make some s’mores with your loved ones!
Moose, wolves, fox, black bears, loons, beavers, otters and bald eagles are among the many animals that are found on property or in our area.
